IF I WERE YOU............
Last week, Grandma surprised us with a visit. Her presence has always made our home wonderful.
She called my siblings and me after noticing a decline in our characters and some areas that I can't place. You know how Grandmothers are.🤗
These were her wise words...👇👇👇
If I were you, I would respect my parents wholeheartedly and give both younger and older the respect they deserve.
If I were you, I would do the household chores assigned to me at home like a leadership duty.
If I were you, I wouldn't wait to be told to take care of myself; I would prioritize self-care.
If I were you, I would cut off every distraction and focus on my studies.
If I were you, I would leave boyfriend/girlfriend for now and rather focus on making my parents and myself proud.
If I were you, I would stop being complacent, and bag more achievements.
If I were you, I would leave pride alone, and strive to be humble.
If I were you, I would seek to be a peacemaker, than a noisy cymbal.
If I were you, I would reject every offer that comes with a condition of belittling my standards.
If I were you I would set principles to guide me, than live aimlessly.
If I were you, I would focus on marrying right at the right age rather than getting overwhelmed by the saying, “Marriage is a scam; you'll never be happy in it.”
If I were you, I would focus on being the best in my line of vocation/education, and everyone would recommend me for their work.
If I were you, I would leave my comfort zone and attend programs, seminars, or conferences that would shape my life.
If I were you, I would accept everyone irrespective of their background, opinions, and imperfections.
If I were you, I would strive to correct the mistakes our forefathers made, not add more to the current situation.
If I were you, I would be ready to prepare for the unexpected when it happens.
If I were you, I would move on with a cheerful spirit even when things don't go my way.
If I were you, I would never judge anyone without finding the reason behind their attitude.
If I were you, I would not push myself to people instead, I would behave in a way that attracts them to my direction.
If I were you, I would learn to say capital “NO”
If I were you, I would set time to chill and play, but still with a consciousness of more to achieve.
If I were you, I would remain optimistic.
Her words were like a punch, striking a chord within me. Which of these wisdom nuggets resonated with you the most? Do you have a favourite piece of advice from your Grandma to share? Share in the comments below!
