PETER OBI DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN #ENDBADGOVERNANCE PROTEST, CLAIMS VIRAL VIDEO IS EDITED
By Nnadi Victor Ebuka
Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, has firmly denied participating in the recent #EndBadGovernance protest. He asserts that a viral video circulating online, which appears to show him at the rally, has been doctored to mislead the public and damage his reputation.
The video in question, widely shared on social media, shows a man resembling Obi addressing the protestors. This has led to speculation about his involvement in the demonstration aimed at combating corruption and poor governance in Nigeria.
Obi's spokesperson has categorically rejected these claims, stating that the footage is a fabrication. "The video is a clear attempt to create a false narrative," the spokesperson said. "Peter Obi supports peaceful and constructive dialogue, not protests. The intent behind this edited video is to tarnish his image."
This incident highlights the broader issue of misinformation and its potential to mislead the public. As debates continue, it underscores the importance of verifying the authenticity of media content before drawing conclusions.
